more pics of the field trip.

Miaya and myself and Henry and Lete and Melanie in the background. I, of course, am the zombie looking creature.

Henry, seemingly surprised by his own strength.
Or something.

Me and Miaya again. This day was an exhausting one. Mainly because of what happened after all these good times.

What a great pic. I didn't take it. :)

Oh yeah. so after all the fun stuff, we went back to the cars, and a lady was writing me a ticket. I was uber pissed. It was my first one, and it was a really stupid one. Oh whale.

I heart manga and anime?

It's a true story: I love manga and anime. I, who hated cartoons with a firey passion, love these things. My favorite anime is Bleach. It is not available here. At all. Okay, they have the first 3 arcs, but that's all! Thank goodness Henry and Lete taught me some tricks. And I found out my library carries lots and lots of manga. The younger siblings have opened my eyes. hehehehehe. so fun.

The conference center

We spent a couple of hours in downtown Salt Lake. We went and took a tour of the conference center. It was interesting. I've been a couple of times. The weather was lovely and it was wild because of the babies.

Bye bye tree bits

Dustin is a big fan of losing our Chinese Elms. I believe that is what they are called. They are very awful trees. Everytime the wind blows, they lose branches. One of them is also in large part dead. Which is not good. The part that is not dead hangs over our neighbors garage. So Keith, our friend whom is incredibly good at cutting away large bits of tree and making sure said bits don't hit anyone or anything, came over and helped cut it down. Our other friend Vinny, whom also happens to be our neighbor, also came over to do stuff. No one and nothing was hurt during this part of the tree cutting escapades.
The picture above is the before. The picture below is the after. We also cut another large section of the tree.

Fishing for arsenic

We went to our usual fishing hole and found a sign that said catch and release fishing only. That is usually not the case. You usually have to keep everything you catch. It turns out they tested some fish recently and the levels of arsenic is higher than should be consumed. Amazing. And creepy. It was still fun though.

Dustin's so good at helping her fish. She loves it.

This is a pawn shop in Tooele. This sign makes me snort. Yes indeed.

Miaya watering plants before the month of rain we just had. :) I think she looks so great in this color.

Memory Lane

The other day, we went on a trip down Memory Lane. It was actually fun. I don't know about the others, but it was painless for me, and I was not expecting it to be. I have quite a few bad memories of American Fork. I have a hard time going back there, but it was great. We actually hoped to spend quite a bit of time a Star Mill, but we got there only to find out that it was only open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Phooey. Oh well. Like I said, it was great fun. We ended up at the DI and I love DI. Especially ones that are new to me. :) I got a little red wagon for $5. For Miaya, of course. Good times. And Miriam found quite a few cool books. Like the Chinese dictionary. It was pretty cool. Then we drove out to where we used to live, and it is now a big shed thing. And there's a big school bus depot across the street where there used to be only fields. We drove out by Utah lake, and by our old chapel. And through the neighborhood by the church. And then we went to this park. I don't know what it's called, but I remember going to a youth conference here, and this is also the park where Daniel proposed to Miriam. Good times.
