What men are really thinking...

So today one of the messenger stories that pops up for me when I sign on was about what men really think. I am always interested in what men are really thinking. It's a mystery to me. So, I clicked on the link and proceeded to read. It turns out the article was written by a woman, and the doctors they consulted were also women. Wait, what? That's strange to me. Wouldn't the best expert on men be other men? Maybe not. But I could tell the article was written from a woman's point of view. I don't think very many men would be interested enough to writing an article on themselves. Maybe, maybe not. It just made me chuckle. hahaha.

Spread the word.

The Dawdler and Runner

I read an article today, and it is so how Miaya is right now. You can read it here. I try to dawdle with her, and I thoroughly enjoy that part. I hate the running thing. It freaks me out! She ran away at the library today. And she was laughing hysterically! It made me laugh, but it wasn't very appropriate. Oh well. We'll get it figured out.

Isabellsumbrella

I read this blog/website thingy called Your Heart Out and it's really great for some fun things here in Utah. I found an etsy store from here in Salt Lake on their blog and it's so lovely! I am going to buy lots of things. :) So cute. Check it out.

I love the desert

On Monday, Dustin called me from work sounding harried. So I suggested we get out of the city of a couple of hours. He jumped at the chance. Once Dustin got home from work, we all piled into our little Nissan pickup: Dustin, Miaya, Moose, and myself. We decided to hike around in the mountains of the west desert. As I declared to the world on facebook the other day, I have fallen in the love with the desert this year. Earlier this year I did a blog about the West Desert, and that is where my love started. It has only grown since then. Only on Saturday did I realize I loved it so much. We go for drives all the time and lately we've been heading west: Tooele, Stockton, Grantsville, Ophir. I love the dry heat, the cold mornings, the aridness, the sparse vegetation. I am a hopeless romantic, and the desert has become incredibly romantic and lovely to me. It is beautiful now to me in a way that few things are. :D
The pics are backwards. I am not sure why. So just look at them from bottom to top. hahaha.
The sun was setting. I am holding the camera out of the window as we drive. Not too shabby.

Can you spot the deer? Dustin hopes to get one next week.
We stopped and ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on a log.
I love him.
Moose the regal one.
Dustin scouting out the canyon/valley splayed in front of us.

The Cabela's Fiasco

Judging by these pics, you would think that we had quite the serene and positive and fun experience, wouldn't you? Well, it was.
For like 10 minutes.
hahahhaha.
Then all hell broke loose!
It was a shocking turn of events. hahaha. Not really. It's actually to be expected. We went over to look at shoes for Dustin, and lo and behold, Miaya wants to run around like a maniac. I don't allow it. I think it's irresponsible to let your kids run around all crazy. So I picked her up and marched out of the store with her. And then we went home. It was quite the fiasco.

She loves the park

Miaya truly loves the park. Whenever we drive by any park, she begs and begs and begs to go. Sometimes we do, but mostly we don't. :) It's okay. This was last Friday. I decided we should get out of the house for a bit, so we went to the park and had a picnic. It got pretty hot pretty quick, but Miaya still had a great time.

Caught in traffic

The other day, Dustin was kind enough to come with me to Ikea. He hates Ikea. I believe I have mentioned this before. I find him to be an incredibly good sport to come with me. :D Anyway, after we left, we got caught in this random traffic mess.
I can't tell you why, but I got all excited. Not because there had been an accident. But because I could take pics of all these cars. What an odd creature I am.
See the cars stretching off into forever? Amazing. I actually hate driving by accidents. I'm really weird about them. You know how many people stop and gawk? I am not one of those people. I don't want to see anything. Not the twisted metal, not the ambulances, the police, firetrucks, mayhem. I am terrified of seeing something I cannot erase from my brain.
Thank goodness I didn't see anything when we finally were able to drive by.

A couple of weeks ago.

Miaya's bliss. July 4.

Dustin's bliss. July 3
Yes, we drove down that.
This is Jacob city.
Taking a break on the trail.
A couple of hawks came to check us out.
Rush Valley. Stunning.
Dustin and I. :) You can also see Miaya's hair and carseat.
Dustin and Bill. Bill made us some breakfast. It was freaking delicious.
Dustin and Jimbo.
Miaya. Need I say more?
