Kaffitima

So today Miaya and I had kaffitima. I don't know what else to call it. I adore it! Melisa probably remembers it well. We had it EVERY day at Perla's house. Such a great thing. Have some kokomjolk (the best chocolate milk in the whole universe) or juice. And some vinabraud. Kleinurs. Okay, that sounds so good. Maybe some cookies.

We just had milo, peppermint tea and toast. But it was lovely. :D And so fun.

I love kaffitima. I love icelandic bakeries and the yummy kokomjolk. I miss it all. I took victoria to a little bakery here one day for lunch and it totally reminded me of iceland. Although the food was not as good hahahaha. What a great idea to have kaffitima.

kaffitími is the greatest. Especially at little bakeries or cafes.

AIgOO this brings back the memories, I used to make vinbraud, in Iceland ahahaha Delicious stuff. I've tried really hard to find good bakeries everywhere I go, and they all suck, and usualy only sell BRead, What the HEck is With ThAT?? terrible terrible tragedous thing! BUT England had decent bakeries, decent baked goods, anywho Well Done!

In my day and age, haha, we called it "drekkutími", but nevermind - it was just as you described. My mum worked alot and we never had this, so my sisters and I made friends with kids who did, and I admit that I sometimes planned my own playdates to coincide with this longed-for time of the day, sometime between 15.30 and 17.00 ... ca:) It is very Icelandic; I love it, too. Sitting there at the table for the sole purpose of devouring naughty treats, like you described - what kid wouldn't love that? In fact, what kid doesn't need that? ;)

Sending some phantom kókómjólk & kleinur your way, to Melisa, too ... Xx

ps: if you get seriously desperate, I'm pretty sure Ingibjörg, mum of Lára Ósk, knows how to make kleinur! :)
