That was our weekend?

A list of things that happened this past weekend:

Friday:
  • Mele'ofa and Miaya go shopping. We get to Costco only to find out I have lost my card. Go home, because I forgot you can just get a new one in like 1 second.
  • Dustin works late.
  • The ward Christmas party. We aren't able to go, but drop off a fruit salad.
  • Have a date at Burger King :)
Saturday:
  • It snows yipee!
  • Miaya ruins a library book by tearing it's cover off
  • Dustin worked in the morning
  • Dustin has choir practice in the morning
  • Miaya clogs the toilet by putting a toilet roll in it
  • Dustin has to take the toilet off and unclog it (takes several hours)
  • Miriam and Daniel and Alexander and Eva come over yay!
Sunday:
  • Dustin goes to choir practice
  • Mele'ofa goes to leadership meeting before church
  • Miaya pees through all her clothing before sacrament meeting, so we went home early (Dustin didn't change her before church, and gave her a juice box. Not a good combination.)
  • We all go to choir practice at 4pm only to wait until 4:30 to be able to practice
  • We take Miaya to Rheas house to drop Miaya off, so we can sing at fireside
  • We get to fireside intending to sit together, but find out we can't
  • Sing with success (both of us)
  • Go and get Miaya and head home
  • Dustin goes to Grams and Gramps' to fix their snowblower (it was like 9pm :Pbut it's supposed to snow on Monday)
  • Miaya and Mele'ofa watch Harry Potter and fall asleep
  • Dustin get's back a little after 10pm
Am I complaining? Yes. But it all turned out fine. It wasn't the funnest weekend, but it did have some really great bits.

Pretty Good

I wanted to make cookies today, but I'm low on everything, including patience, and I didn't want to run to the store. Last Christmas, Dustin's Aunt Jeri gave us this recipe for these way easy cookies, and I haven't ever tried the recipe. Until today. They were pretty good, and fast. I wanted to share the recipe, because it's awesome.

Fudge Drop Cookies

1 pkg chocolate cake mix

1/2 cup butter

1 egg

Blend all ingredients together. The batter will be really thick. Roll into balls and place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Heat oven to 350 degrees and bake for 10 minutes.

How easy is that? I made them with Miaya today. The batter was pretty thick, so she didn't help mix, but she liked using the ice cream scoop to make the balls. And for Mamma, I am sure they have sugar free cake mixes out there. Yep, I just googled it.

Christmas-ized

Our blog is completely festive now. It will only last until Christmas, or so. My playlist is even a Christmas one, inspired by Miriam and Daniel's christmas playlist. I took the top picture laying under our Christmas tree. Dustin put lights all over it. I love it.

We watched Forbidden Kingdom on Friday night, and it was awesome! I loved it. Dustin didn't like it too much. Not much for the kung foo, I think.

It's snowing right now! For the first time in like a month! And it's supposed to snow really hard this coming weekend. Just in time for Miriam and Daniel. :)

Miaya has figured out how to open all the doors in the house. And lock them. (She's tall, so she can reach the front dead bolt too!) And unlock them. This morning, I took Moose out, and it was already snowing, so I figured Miaya would see that and not go out. She came outside and was walking around! I was yelling for her to go back inside, and she was just walking around. In her socks! In the snow and slush. And I'm yelling the whole time trying to get her to go in the house so she doesn't freeze to death. When I finally get to the back door, she's screaming, telling me her toes hurt. Poor booger.

Where you gonna put a tree that big, Griswold?

Honestly. We weren't going to get a real christmas tree this year, but then our neighbor said he could get us one. Dustin was all excited. Our neighbor works for the forest service, so he doesn't need a permit or anything, because they are always clearing trees and such. This is one of the trees they were getting rid of, and now it is ours. It takes up a quarter of the living room. Seriously.

Is it Friday?

Hello Moose pie. This was taken today. How nice. My booger dog. She's sweet for the most part but because I don't exercise her enough, she can get hyper. Like EVERY time I take her outside. Poor thing. But, jes, can you believe it's already Friday. I was thinking it was only Thursday. I had to check my calendar. My phone doesn't take very good pictures, sorry. But this is what you get. I am sure there was a point to this post, but I am failing to see it. I am giddy with excitedness to see my sisters and one of my bros in law and nieces and nephews. Woo. That's all.

Rambling

This first picture is of Miaya last night, right before bed, and the second one is of Miaya in our bed this morning. I thought she had hopped into her own bed, but I went to check on her, and she was in our bed. I have no idea how she was able to climb up into it. She is multi-talented. This kid, whom is so sweet sometimes, can have the craziest tantrums sometimes. She already knows how to use her cuteness or whatever you want to call it, to get herself out of trouble. She'll be screaming, and hitting, and then when we scold her, she will stop, give us a hug and a kiss, and take us completely off guard, and then she's off again, and we don't know what just happened. Insane, really.

My Patient Girl

Miaya can be so patient sometimes. This morning I was getting breakfast together, and she decided to pull up a chair and just wait for me. What a sweet kid. hahahahaha. I was trying to take a candid shot, but she saw the phone and proceeded to put a big smile on. She loves to smile for the camera. Cheeky girl. I was amazed she just sat there. Usually she will open all the cupboards and empty them, or get into the pantry and empty it. hahaha. Never a dull moment with her.
So I never blogged about Thanksgiving. I am going to now. We were going to go shooting Thanksgiving morning but we woke up to rain, so that cancelled that. We had the Thanksgiving meal at Dustin grandparents house, and the gathering was quite small compared to when everyone is there. There were only 14 of us, so it was nice. Usually there are like 30, and that can be a bit much if you don't have the room for that many people. Miaya played with Dustin's cousin, Paige, who is 3 and her older brother Zachary. They had a good old time. We watched the Lions lose yet ANOTHER game, against the Titans, and quite pitifully. I guess that's what happens when you pit the WORST team in the NFL against the best. And then we watched the Cowboys trample the Seahawks. Both games were so disappointing because there was really no doubt as to who would win. :P I didn't even watch the Eagles and the Cardinals.
On Friday morning we went shooting. Yay! It was great. We even brought Moose. We wanted to see if she's gun shy. And she is a teeny bit, but nothing we can't work with. Dustin wants her to be a hunting dog. I think she'll be able to do it. She's a good girl. If not, no biggie. Miaya and Moose and I kind of hiked around a bit, because sitting in the car the whole time is no fun. And when I wanted to shoot, Grampa Ray sat with Miaya in the car and played and gave her hot cocoa and cheetos. There was orange everywhere. I didn't take any pics. I was too busy having fun. :D
When we got home, Dustin and Miaya took naps, and I got a bunch of the Christmas stuff out. I felt all holidays-y after that, so I put Miriam's christmas playlist on, and decorated. I love Christmas. It's so great. On Saturday we took Miaya over to Grandma's house so we could do a bit of Christmas shopping. Dustin and I went to Ikea and got Miaya an easel. I am soooo excited for her to have it. hahahaha. I think she'll love it. She loves to color and such. Okay. I'm done.
