Blog overdose. hehehe.

My new found obsession of manga has now become one with one of my old, but beloved, obsessions, Twilight. Check this out!

Can you believe it?!?!?!?!! I am oh so excited! Yippeeeee!

Oh and I have found out that in order to better obsess about the things I love I must, I must, learn Korean and Japanese. Good luck to me. I also want to learn Italian, but that's just because.

I feel happy. I hope it lasts. :D

What would you do?

I think there are people out there over whom we have an influence. Now, if you know you have an influence over someone, do you use that influence for good? Or should you just shape them into whatever you want them to be? I feel that when you know you have some weight with someone, you sometimes need to curb what you say or do around them, if you know it's not good for them. I know everyone has a choice when it comes down to it, but still, be judicious. When someone has put themselves enough out there to trust you by taking you into their confidence, it's doing them a disservice to manipulate them.

What do you guys do? I hadn't really thought of it too much until the last couple of days. My little brother in law, for one reason or another, is suseptible to listening to what I have to say on a variety of subjects. Recently he has been questioning a lot of different things, which I think is great. Find your own answers, you know? And he's been influenced by someone who doesn't believe as he has in the past, and his parents are worried. I know I worry sometimes. But it's not just in one aspect of his life, it's all over. He's becoming a younger version of this other person. This other person is still figuring himself out. He's trying to straighten out his life. I suppose we'll just have to see how things turn out.

Anyway, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is on TV tonight. I haven't ever seen it, but whoever did the makeup for Johnny Depp did a great job, and they should have done the makeup for the vampires on Twilight. Or Sweeney Todd. Those are some pasty pale folks.

See. Edward looks more human than these other three. Maybe not?

An Object Lesson

Yesterday Dustin was asked by a guy in our ward to dress "immodestly for church, or inappropriately" at a choir practice he went to before church. So he came home and asked me what immodest was for a guy. Indeed. I told him "Your crack-a-lack showing, or your undies showing". And he laughed himself silly. He obviously couldn't be like that for church, so he just sagged his jeans, and left his shoes untied, and borrowed a wig from Grams so he could not comb his hair. (Anyone who has seen Dustin knows he has no hair) The wig was awesome! It was funny to me. And I guess as soon as he walked into elders quorum, the whole class starts laughing at him. I wish I could have seen it. hahahaha. He had fun. He wanted to make sure everyone there knew, however, that if jeans and t-shirt is your Sunday best, that's great, but pull your pants up and tie your shoelaces and comb your hair. I tried to get him to blog about it, but he can't be bothered with such things.

On to other things: I saw Twilight with Dustin and Adam (little bro-in-law and fellow twilight freak) and I thought it was excellent. I have noticed many many people in internet-land were not as enthused as I was about it. I loved it, though. I will buy it as soon as I can. hahahahaha. Dustin hated it. Well, he didn't mind sitting through it with me, but he doesn't want to ever see it again. hahahahaha. He was a good sport to see it with me. He thought it was a chick flick and he, apparently, abhors such things as chick flicks. I hope I'm not ruining anything for anyone. I'm not talking about specifics in the movie.

Anyway, it's almost Thanksgiving and I can't quite believe it. It's too warm, or something, for it to be Thanksgiving. We are going shooting on Thursday. We will wake up at the crack of dawn, drive for an hour, shoot shotguns and rifles for a couple of hours, and then come back and eat til we can't move, watch some football and take a nap. hahahaha.

The world gets tinier each day

So I've been connecting with people all over a lot that I haven't seen in YEARS. And it's all been quite recently. Last week we got our internet hooked up and there was a message from a girl I went to high school with. She told me her younger sister was marrying a boy from Iceland. I know who he is and his family is close with my family, so it was all weird and cool and the world shrunk. I saw a girl from high school today, at Orson Gygi. I went there this morning because my neighbor and friend Bryn asked me if I wanted to go with her. I've always wanted to go and check it out so I said yes. We are there and wandering around and seeing all the fun stuff they had and a young woman who works there says to me "I know you. We went to high school together. You're from AF right?" and I was dumbfounded because she didn't really look at all familiar, but she obviously knew me. So I said "yeah" and then it clicked for me. But I couldn't think of her name. She then said "I was Chicks best friend" and I was like "Oh yeah, I know who you are!" but I still couldn't think of her name! and then she supplied it "I'm Erin" and it was so surreal. I was in Salt Lake at a store I had never been to in my life, just by chance, and then there is another blast from the past. Nuttery. She was really nice. Other stuff was said, but that was the jist of the conversation, and it was all weird for me. The world will soon shrink to the size of a walnut. Miriam, I think you were kind of friends with her, right? Hmmm...vair vair interesting.

Oh! I almost forgot my excellent other news. I bought my tickets for twilight today. I am all set to see it tomorrow for lunch. It seems a crime to have to wait. I am just glad I don't have to watch it by my lonesome. hahahahhahahahahahaha. I am a bit hysterical with excitement. I won't be blathering about it until it is legal to do so, which means after my sisters in the other countries have seen it. Then we can have a good ol gush together. hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Alright. I'm done.
